Some things in life are inexplicable, but the internet can bring clarity and can even unite people. The story of these musicians began awhile back when Dutchman Ronald Wahle met American Chris Brown via the Neal Morse forum. Their debut CD never reached the ‘Prog-Nose Review’ list. That is a bit of a tragedy, considering the quality of their album.

The music of Ghost Circus can’t really be classified in to any one genre. It contains elements of AOR, Prog, Metal, Symphonic, Classic and Alternative Rock…thus, a real mish-mash. Luckily, it’s neither chaotic nor messy. All the songs have a very good structure. The quality of the production is very good, as well.
You’ll be surprised from song to song, starting with the instrumental “Reflection” until, another instrumental , “Across the Line”. The high point is the 25 minute long song “Through the Light (part 1-7)”.

If you love cool music with content, then you’ve got to get this CD. It will be your cup of tea.



Gods wegen zijn ondoorgrondelijk, maar ook het internet brengt soms mensen en dingen samen waar dit vroeger nooit mogelijk zou geweest zijn. Het verhaal van deze muzikanten begint dan ook een tijdje geleden toen de Nederlander Ronald Wahle, de Amerikaan Chris Brown leerde kennen via het Neal Morse forum. Hun debuut cd is echter nooit tot op de ‘Prog-Nose redactie’ geraakt, wat gezien de kwaliteit van dit album erg spijtig is.

De muziek van Ghost Circus is niet onder ene noemer thuis te brengen. Het bevat elementen van AOR, Prog, Metal, Symfonische, Classic en Alternatieve Rock. Een ware mengelmoes dus. Maar gelukkig is dit alles in het geheel niet chaotisch of rommelig, maar bevatten alle songs een heel goede structuur. Heel aangenaam is ook de kwaliteit waarmee dit alles is geproduceerd.
Vanaf het instrumentale “Reflection” tot het eveneens instrumentale “Across The Line” val je van de ene verbazing in de andere, met als hoogtepunt het ongeveer 25 minuten durende “Through The Light (part1-7)”.

De liefhebbers van toffe muziek met inhoud, mogen zonder twijfel dit album op hun lijstje zetten. Ze zullen het zeker naar hun zin hebben met dit album.
