Tears
is a band of young Greek musicians, based in England. The name
refers to their intent to put lots of emotion into their music. This
self-released EP is only about 22 minutes long, but it is a good
appetizer: I would definitely want to hear more from this band.
The theatrical vocals and the use of the piano and keyboards remind
me most of Shadow Gallery, which is especially evident in the
3-part “Self Destruction”. “Time Master” is also a pretty powerful,
melodic track. “Things Imaginary” is a beautiful, slower piece,
which perhaps shows the most promise for the band.
The production isn’t always exactly top-notch; it’s very clear, but
not always in balance and at times lets down the bombastic and
ambitious arrangements.
This band may not be ready for the big stage, but who knows what’s
in store for them? They definitely have the potential. In any case,
if you’re open to new bands and are constantly looking for new names
to explore, you should definitely try out Tears. The EP is
available through their website and it’s VERY cheap, so what are you
waiting for? |
