This conceptual work was conceived over a period of 20 years by Gerben and Joop Klazinga, "The Sun Also Rises" was ultimately composed and recorded during the past three years by keyboardist/drummer Gerben and flautist Joop with an assortment of musicians from the Dutch progressive rock scene. The result is a stunning work of epic progressive rock that will appeal to fans of Camel, Pendragon, Genesis, and IQ. Knight Area uses a full sonic palette that will stir the soul of any old or new school symphonic rock fan. Mellotron/flute interplay, Hammond organ, liquid lead synth and soaring guitar solos - it's all here! Dramatic vocals and a dynamic mix propel this emotion filled story. We think "The Sun Also Rises" is a special release - a future classic in fact.

Captured live in Italy in March of 2003, this documents the band's new era with drummer and former Crimson member Ian Wallace. November 21, 2003 I am sending out this letter of thanks to all the people who have made the experience of being part of King Crimson such a powerful and vital one. I am grateful to all the musicians who have I been able to share the stage, the creative process and the long bus rides with: Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Pat Mastelotto, Tony Levin and Bill Bruford. To be able to call these modular, glowing, rock solid, earth shaking and nimble characters my friends and allies has been a constant source of amazement to me. But most importantly, I am grateful to all the audiences who have supported the work of this band while I have been part of it. People have come to us with open ears and enthusiasm to hear something new. And they have done so even when we were still testing the waters with untried material and ideas. A musician couldn’t ask for anything more. This path has taken ten years (not to mention the previous eight working with Robert Fripp in many other projects.) During my time with the band we have put out 17 CDs, 2 DVDs, and brought to the stage hundreds of performances. Here again, a musician couldn’t ask for more. So as with my aims as a young player, it is now time to move on. To what, I can only partially articulate. And this isn’t the place, or time, for projecting the future. This is the place to say thank you. So…. Thank you, all.

Big news this time.
But the biggest change of all is that Hugo, our bass player, is
leaving the Gathering. We went on a quest to find a suitable replacement for Hugo. Luckily we did not have to search very far. We found a female bass player named Marjolein from Oss, Holland, the place where most of us come from and started our Gathering career. She studies at the Dutch 'Rock academy', She's a nice and funny girl and a natural talent indeed. We welcome her to our band. You will get a chance to meet her when we will tour around Europe after the release of "Sleepy buildings" end of January 2004.
Greetings, November 10, 2003 RISING UP! - MEETING 2003 ARENA FANCLUB THE CAGE Saturday December 13th the third meeting of the official international Arena fan club The Cage will take place. After two very succesful meetings in 1999 and 2001, The Cage deems it’s high time for a new fan meeting. The event marks the end of the Contagion Winter Tour and the chapter Contagion, the critically acclaimed album Arena released at the beginning of this year. The meeting will be held at De Boerderij in Zoetermeer, Holland; a familiar venue forArena. It hosted the (acoustic) live debut of Contagion in November last year and a completely sold out Arena gig in April 2003. In the afternoon the band will open the meeting with an acoustic set en of course there are also merchandise and cd stands and a lottery with Arena memorabilia as prizes. The evening begins with a performance by the Dutch percussion act EmmerNemmer (‘Bucket&Bucket’) and ends with a full concert by Arena, which will include a few golden oldies that haven’t been played for some time and some songs that have never been played live. During the meeting recordings will be made for a Cage DVD release. Tickets are already on sale via the regular addresses (www.ticketservice.nl) and can also be ordered at the online Cage Shop.

Official Yes Bootlegs Yes will be offering high-quality official "bootlegs" through YesWorld. These are soundboard recordings of various recent shows that will be properly mixed and offered to their fans. Details are currently being finalized and this service will begin sometime in the near future. More details to come on www.yesworld.com Yesspeak DVD Classic Pictures is planning to release YesSpeak, a double DVD of the band filmed during the Full Circle Tour of Europe. It is scheduled to be issued in Europe on November 24. Release dates for the U.S., Japan, and Mexico to be announced soon. South American releases are being planned as well. The three hour film is an intimate and humorous observation into their music, their life on the road and their own personal views. The DVD shows footage from the worldwide Full Circle Tour as well as providing revealing interviews with all of the band members. Note that this is not a video concert film but a documentary interspersed with music; however the DVD features an entire audio-only concert in 5.1 Surround and DTS. Roger Daltrey of the Who is slated to narrate the DVD. Under consideration is a VHS version which may be available in January/Feb 2004.

Tentative plans call for a tour of the East Coast of the U.S., running from Jan. 20th through Feb. 10th 2004. Exact dates and locations will be announced in about a month, with tickets going on sale in December. Venues for the tour are expected to be intimate theatre-type settings.

MARATHON TOUR 2003 This DVD Project came together when during a break in touring on the “Marathon Tour” The Band sat down and started to review the untold hours of footage and thousands of photos from the tour. None of this footage or the photos where taken with the intention of a DVD in mind but after seeing just what was there, the possibility was raised of “The Official Bootleg DVD” and then the editing started. On “The Official Bootleg DVD” you will see the band in it’s true live form, in fact there is not one over dub or correction on this project, most of the time during filming the band did not even have the knowledge that the camera’s where rolling until after the show.
This DVD collection contains:
• 12 songs from the sold out show in Stuttgart, Germany This DVD is only available in the SAGA STORE. Bulgarian melodic, progressive rock. The members’ activity as “Music Station” is short, but every member plays an active part in Bulgarian music scene as a member of several rock/pop groups, as a support member of famous bands, as an arranger or as studio musician in Bulgaria. They started actively writing songs and rehearsals from September 2002. From February 2003, the band had started recording with Tony Grapes (producer) of a technical rock band “Millennium” in studio AHAT. The recording was very complicated even used 76 tracks. But Tony Grapes succeeded to mix it down. Then on 1st July, the debut album was released in Bulgaria. The band has an influence from quite a lot of musicians; Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pat Metheny, Al Di Meola, Metallica, Dream Theater, Rush, Yes, Incognito, Brand New Heavies, CAB, Marty Friedman, Shadow Gallery, Asia, Quincy Jones, Toto, Journey, Queenryche, Fates Warning, Tony McAlpine and so on. Also they are influenced by Bulgarian traditional music, these influences are giving a very unique sound to “Music Station”.

For those who haven't, the title is VOIVODE DRACULA and it's a concept album dealing with themes from the famous Bram Stoker novel. I hope those who heard my halloween treat - the complete 9 minute title track - enjoyed it. Thanks for the feedback - it was very much appreciated. That streaming mp3, like the Count, is currently resting once more but I do intend to post a free downloadable track around new year. The new album is coming along very well and for those who are interested in such things, the theremin-guitar has returned once more as well as the debut of my transylvanian Bazouki and Rastrophone.
REQUIEM was founded in the Autumn of 1999 in Haapajärvi, Finland. The founder members were Arto Räisälä, Matti Auvinen and Rami Repola. Their first demo "Gods of War" was released in that autumn. In this period, their music was Melodic Death/Power Metal with neo-classical influences. In the beginning 2000 Rami Repola (drums) left the band being replaced by Jari Huttunen soonly. In that period the music was heading into a more technical, melodic and fantasy direction. So, Ahti Komu (keyboards) and Teemu Hänninen (guitar) joined REQUIEM in the late winter of 2000 and the band released their second demo "Into The Night" in the following summer. In the end of the summer REQUIEM started looking for a new singer with a clean vocal and high tunes, the former MYSTERIUM vocalist Jouni Nikula was invited to the band. In the beginning of 2001 Ahti Komu (keyboards) was replaced by Henrik Klingenberg. REQUIEM played some gigs around the Finland in the winter and the audience really enjoyed what their actual line-up and new music. In the late winter of 2001 REQUIEM signed a record deal with Sound Riot Records. The material followed the style more Progressive with Power Neo-Classical Metal vibrations. In December 2001 was recorded 9 songs at Watercastle Studios with the mastering done by Mika Jussila at famous Finnvox Studios in January 2002. The sound quality is clear yet powerful. What about the music? It is a journey into the fantasy entitled “The Arrival”. After REQUIEM have been a surprise (or a revelation) for many music fans and writers from some places because their "The Arrival" album in the last year, now they are back with a very much mature album. If some people got impressed with the talent of this young band on their debut, these same people will simply get amazed with the big progress of these boys on this new material. "Mask Of Damnation" isn´t the typical Power Metal in all, there is more elements in the REQUIEM music. A short term that could describe this new album easily is: They are breaking the boundaries! Their new album will out in December 01, 2003. "Mask of Damnation" is a top-priority in the label and no shadow of doubts, REQUIEM is ready to be the new sensation from Finland...
Title The new Ayreon album will be called “The Human Equation”. Singer As some of you may remember, earlier this year Arjen asked for unknown vocalists to send in their recordings. He wanted to find new talent who had not had a chance to shine yet, and possibly invite them to sing on one of his projects. Hundreds of responses poured into the Electric Castle, and Arjen spent many an hour listening to demos and responding to every singer who sent in material. Eventually Arjen managed to narrow down the selection to just a few vocalists. Once Arjen had written the parts for the new Ayreon, he asked some of these singers to do an additional audition to see if they would fit. From this second audition, one singer really stood out above all others. Her name is Marcela Bovio from Mexico and in a few weeks time she will be flown over to the Electric Castle to record her parts for Ayreon: The Human Equation.

We've already heard the intitial mix of Substitute for Murder, and it's sounding good... Keeping true to the Gazpacho sound but with an extra twist. Winter is drawing in, and it seems that Christmas is once again nearly upon us. If you cast your mind back to almost a year ago, we had played a great show at the amazing Union Chapel. Those of you with keen eyes may have noticed the number of cameras pointed at the stage... Well, after much waiting and anticipation, we're happy to announce that "Christmas in the Chapel" is now available for sale on DVD.
