Camel
NEW STUDIO ALBUM: "A
NOD AND A WINK" Recording for
Camel's new studio album "A Nod and a Wink" is well under
way. Guy LeBlanc, Colin Bass and Denis Clement joined Andrew Latimer
at Little Barn studios. Spirits were exceptionally high within the
band despite 12-hour days in the studio. An album blending a bit of
fun and nostalgia with a nod to Camel's roots and a wink at the
whimsical, "A Nod and a Wink" comprises 7 tracks and
approximately 55 minutes of music. A release date has not yet been
settled upon but "A Nod and a Wink" will be out for summer.
CAMEL ACOUSTIC ALBUM:
Soon after "A Nod and a Wink" has been recorded, mixed,
mastered and on its way to the manufacturing plant, Guy LeBlanc will
return to Little Barn Studios where he and Andrew Latimer will record
an album of favourite Camel tunes, rearranged especially for acoustic
recording. Well, there may be a little electricity here and there but
that's poetic license for you. In the meantime, Camel want to hear
from you. Send in your vote for 10 Camel tracks you think would be
best suited to an acoustic arrangement. The votes will be tallied and
the most favoured tracks will appear on the album. Visit
http://www.camelproductions.com/vote.htm
and enter your favourites. Please, only one
vote per person. Your email address will be a required element. The
acoustic album will be released just before the tour later this year
and offered for sale at the performances

Lana
Lane
Curious Goods

Think Tank Media proudly announces its
release of the LANA LANE - CURIOUS GOODS SPECIAL EDITION, a double CD
re-issue of Lana's second album originally released in 1996 in Japan
only. The album tracks have been thoroughly
reworked for this new issue. Lana re-recorded ALL of her vocals on the
album in early 2002 which allowed her to reinterpret the songs with
the delivery a more mature artist. The vocal performances are hence
much more remiscent of Lana's recent albums, 'Project Shangri-La' and
'Secrets of Astrology'. Producer Erik Norlander has also undertaken an
extensive remix of the whole record using the most state-of-the-art
modern hard disk recording tools. The album was also necessarily
remastered by Norlander following the remix. The result is a much more
crisp and precise sound, but Norlander was also very careful not to
lose any of the warmth, lushness or character of the original release,
learning from his experiences on the 1998 rework of the 'Love is an
Illusion' album. The CURIOUS GOODS SPECIAL
EDTION also contains a new bonus track, the James Bond theme "You
Only Live Twice", recorded with Vinny Appice, Don Schiff and Mark
McCrite during the 'Project Shangri-La' sessions.
The CURIOUS GOODS SPECIAL EDITION is a
double CD. Disc One contains the new 2002 enhanced version, and Disc
Two contains the original 1996 version, left intact and untouched.
The Pseudonym Records label (Holland) has
released this title in Europe. Think Tank
Media issues the title in a Slimline 2CD jewel case, Pseudonym issues
it in the thicker double CD case. Other than
that, the versions are identical.

Azigza (www.lionharp.com/azigza

San Francisco's Azigza have made quite a name for themselves in
a short period of time. From their surprise set at ProgFest 1999 to
show-stopping performances at Mexicali's BajaProg festival and North
Carolina's ProgDay, the band's "trance rock fusion" has
impressed audiences on both coasts.

Epic in scope, complex in execution, and truly progressive in
the most profound sense of the word, Maudlin of the Well have, in the
space of three albums and rare concert appearances, established
themselves as one of the most unique bands performing today. Their
cover story in the most recent issue of Exposé marks them as an
up-and-coming star in the realm of progressive music.

Quidam
It's
been silent for quite some time around Quidam, but now their new
studio album is available. The CD is called "Pod Niebem
Czas", but has been brought on the international market by Musea
under the name "Beneath The Sky Time". The line-up of the
band hasn't changed since the last album, 1998's Sny Aniolow: Emila
Derkowska (vocal, backing vocals), Zbyszek Florek (piano, keyboards),
Rafal Jermakow (drums, percussion), Maciek Meller (electric and
acoustic guitars), Radek Scholl (bass) and Jacek Zasada (flutes). They
are supported by several guest musicians.
When you listen to this album, you will be caught by the Quidam magic,
just as the previous records. Although this album still contains the
more "sweet" and "peaceful" compositions, you can
state that Quidam returned to a bit more powerful and daring
compositions. Certainly a recommended album!
There are several sound samples available at their
website.

Sylvan
The new album by Sylvan “Artificial
Paradise has been finished. The release date is yet unknown.
Po90
The new Po90 studio album is now available.
The bulk of the recording was done at an isolated farmhouse in
Arkengarthdale in North Yorkshire during September last year. . The
album, entitled "More Exotic Ways to Die" is a landmark
album in Po90's career. It's the first album that they have
co-written, and it includes an amazing Multimedia section for Mac
& PC, which unlike many half hearted attempts is really worth
having.... does over 20 extra tracks, forming a complete career
retrospective sound like a decent reason?
The
album's first five tracks, (group titled "Exotic Ways to
Die") are thematically linked, forming the story of a
disillusioned office worker.

Karnataka
The
band are very pleased to announce that they have teamed up with top
engineer Joe Gibb to mix the new album. Joe
has worked with many of the worlds leading recording artists and bands
including Catatonia, Leftfield, Texas, Janes Addiction, Madonna,
Travis, Top Loader, Robbie Williams, The Kinks, Deep Forest plus many
more. Mixing is taking place at Mighty Atom Studios in Swansea.
The
live DVD is now available

Romislokus.
The russian progrock band Romislokus
was interviewed this week for the popular radiobroadcast Radio
Heemskerk in Holland. Mark Deren made a special trip to Moscow to meet
the band and to record an hour of live music for his show.
Romislokus released their first album in 2001 entitled "Between
The Mirrors". The style/influence of new offering "Vinyl
Spring, Digital Autumn" stems from many varied directions and
blends, such as classical, electronic, ambient, classic rock with
female backing vocals and strings, all tinged with progressive rock.
The acoustic side of Romislokus' sound is represented by violin,
cello, drums, and vocals, while the electronic side is represented by
keyboards--the electric guitar falls somewhere in between, acting as
the bridging force between these instruments.
Romislokus is currently working on a third album. Info: www.romislokus.com

Satellite.
Satellite's
debut album, "A Street Between Sunrise and Sunset," is going
to be released on July 1 2002. Satellite is a progressive rock band
from Poland. It includes three ex members of a legendary prog rock
band Collage. Cover artwork is made by Mark Wilkinson (see Marillion,
Fish, etc.)
Wojtek
Szadkowski, who wrote and co-wrote nearly all Collage's music and
lyrics, created Satellite in 2000. The
new band was created to fill in the emptiness he felt without Collage.
Comparing Satellite's music to Collage, it is much closer to the
material from "Moonshine" than from "Safe."
Satellite went to the studio on April 6, 2002. It is going to take
approximately two months to record the album. "A Street Between
Sunset and Sunrise" will be released by Ars Mundi.
Tracklisting:
1. The Evening Wind (9:00) 2. On the Run (13:34) 3. Midnight Snow
