Marillion

Message from Marillion:

Marbles is getting closer by the day. It's been a long journey, and we're glad you stayed with us. Dave M wants it remembered that we have in fact written and recorded TWO albums. That's what Marbles represents.

You'll be pleased to know that we are now in the final stage of the album: mixing. To help Dave Meegan with this mammoth task, we have enlisted the talents of Steven Wilson (singer and creative force behind the Porcupine Tree, who mixed most of 'marillion.com') and our old friend Michael Hunter (who created and mixed our Racket CD 'River' and more recently is producing bands - famously including Mansun) to mix certain tracks from the album. The best things come in threes don't they...?!

We also have decided on the final running order of the album. With no little excitement, we present Marbles:

CD 1
The Invisible Man
Marbles I
Genie
Fantastic Place
The Only Unforgivable Thing
Marbles II
Ocean Cloud

CD 2
Marbles III
The Damage
Don't Hurt Yourself
You're Gone
Angelina
Drilling Holes
Marbles IV
Neverland

Landmarq

STEVE GEE SESSIONS FOR PETE BANKS/SYN
--------------------------------------------------
Bassist Steve Gee (Landmarq) has been busy recording with ex-Yes guitarist
Peter Banks on a new project that sees the 'revival' of his pre-Yes band, The Syn. The original line-up also included bassist Chris Squire, though he was unavailable for the project. Other members taking part from the original line-up include Steve Nardelli on lead vocals and Martyn Adelman on drums. Recording has been taking place in south London at Strangeways, the private studio of Paul Stacey (Oasis, Chris Robinson) who has also been on hand providing technical assistance and rocket fuel!
Piano and keys are from Gerard
Johnson (Saint Etienne, Funky Monkey, a.o.) who is also engineering the project.
The new sessions have involved the recording of three brand new versions of songs which will be released on a compilation CD entitled 'Original Syn' that chronicles the history of the band. Two of the 'new' songs are from Syn's original repertoire, one of which is a 3-part mini-epic, 'Illusions', plus a brand new working of the Yes classic, 'Time And A Word' also turned into a mini-epic three-parter.
Also included are some rare unreleased recordings of Pete Banks and Chris Squire playing together, during the earliest days of the band, along with other members of the band. A new Syn website is planned for the near-future.

GONZALO "SUPERTRIB" BAND AND OTHER GIG DATES
-------------------------------------------------------------
Keyboardist Gonzalo has a new side-line having joined with a few notables to form a Supertramp tribute band. Line-up includes ex-Landmarq vocalist Damian Wilson and drummer Bob Dalton (It Bites,
John Wetton). Other members include Anthony Clayton (guitar), Jerry Cunningham (bass and vocals), Nick Slack (Hammond Organ) and Laurent Hunziker (sax) who guested with Landmarq at the beginning of their 2003 shows at the Underworld and Club Riga.. Further details: http://supertrampers.online.fr

Gonzalo will also be playing 2 dates with the Anthony Clayton and Siemy Di Group when they will be supporting Japanese female prog band Ars Nova. Dates are: Classic Rock Society, Rotherham, Sat 27th March & The Underworld, London, Sun 28th March. Further details: http://www.clayton-di.com

DAVE WAGSTAFFE SESSIONS FOR OLIVER WAKEMAN, MARTIN DARVILL
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Drummer Dave Wagstaffe has been equally busy with recording sessions for Martin Darvill's new album. Dave says, "...the new album is titled 'The Greatest Story Ever Told' and is a sequel to the equally modestly titled 'The Greatest Show on Earth' of seven years ago. The new album is again a 'concept' album of Martins words and music, and unlike the first album which had all guest musicians, this one has a basic nucleus of musicians in Dave Kilminster (guitar), Andy Pyle (bass and production), Paul Ward (keyboards), Moon on vocals and Dave Wagstaffe (drums). Dave, along with others, is also providing backing vocals. Steve Christy has already contributed a track and other guests due to put in an appearance, some of whom were also on the first album, include Don Airey,
John Young, John Wetton, Colin Blunstone, John Lawton and more. One musician from the last album who sadly won't be able to make this recording is Noel Redding. The album should be out on Mystic Records in the summer..."

The new solo album from Oliver Wakeman is titled 'Mother's Ruin' and should be out soon though Oliver hasn't settled on the label yet. It's a bunch of songs he has been honing over the last ten years and features Moon on vocals (name sounds familiar...!) Dave Mark Pearce on guitar, Tim Buchanon on bass and Dave Wagstaffe on drums, both of whom were on Oliver's '3 Ages of Magic' album. 'Mother's Ruin' was recorded at Thin Ice studios by Karl Groom, with production by Karl and Oliver.

InsideOut (Transatlantic DVD)

The reworked TRANSATLANTIC DVD Live In Europe has arrived today, and we can do the requested exchange. So whoever has difficulties with the playback, to our knowledge this concern some Pioneer DVD players and players with same internal parts, can exchange this DVD till the 31st of March 2004. Additionally, we had also offered, if requested, to exchange those DVDs which have interchanged label prints. This was the case with a small part of the first edition.

THIS CONCRETELY MEANS:
(Please stick to the mentioned way of exchange!)
You send us the DVDs which you like to exchange (WITHOUT the packaging!). So only the DVDs themselves - we do not exchange the covers! Please make sure that the mail is sufficiently stamped, and do not forget your address. We will immediately send you the requested exchange DVD. Additionally, we will include a surprise promotion CD from our stock to make good for your lost nice hours with your Transatlantic DVD.

Our address is:
INSIDEOUT MUSIC
Re. Transatlantic DVD
Kolpingstr. 9
D  47533 Kleve
Germany

P.S. Here is a clarification. Because the DVD generates problems with a few Pioneer and similar players this does not mean you got to blame your player. Actually, these players are very good. As far as we could ascertain, the problems are such that the programming software used for the DVD production has difficulties to work properly with those players. Meanwhile the software seller has solved the problem, but this was too late for our Transatlantic DVD. It was one of the first and few DVDs which were programmed with the unreworked software.

FC (Final Conflict)

Final Conflict was formed in 1985. Soon the band were receiving mail from Progressive Rock fans across Europe and had started recording for Adrian Skerrett's GAIA RECORDS label. This resulted in the CD release 'REDRESS THE BALANCE' in 1991. The album was well received in England, throughout Europe, and many other countries around the world. Gaia Records immediately asked for another album and work began on what was to become Final Conflict's most successful recording so far, the concept album 'QUEST', released during the summer of 1992. In 1996 the search for a new label/distributor led to the door of Angular records in Germany and in October 1997 'STAND UP' was at last released.
Final Conflict's fourth album entitled "HINDSIGHT" has at last arrived from the pressing plant. We were beginning to think the CD would never be ready considering the problems and delays encountered since we recorded the songs. However it has "risen from the ashes", like the phoenix featured in the lyrics of one of the tracks, after we burned the wood we could not see for the trees blocking our view.

The release marks a new chapter in the history of the band coinciding with the launch of www.fc-music.com and our decision to abbreviate the band's name to "FC". You can order HINDSIGHT direct from us by printing the order form on the merchandise page and posting it to the address shown. It should also be available from distributors very soon.

Band Members

Steve Lipiec – Keyboards
Andy Lawton – Guitar & Vocals
Chris Chalk – Bass & Guitar
Brian Donkin – Vocals, Guitar
Chris Moyden - Drums

Latest News

The band are starting work on a new project to record new versions of classic FC songs. This collection will also feature a new track which was not included on Hindsight and will be released this summer.

FC are also composing and developing new material for the next album due for release in January 2005.

Whitchurch (Hampshire) Festival - FC are in talks with the promoter regarding performance at the festival if it goes ahead this year.

White Willow

White Willow is currently in the studio working on their new album “Storm Season”. Tracking is complete and mixing will take place over the next few weeks.

The album will be released early in 2004. As seems to be tradition, the lineup has changed yet again. Current members include Sylvia Erichsen (vocals), Jacob Holm-Lupo (guitars), Lars Fredrik Frøislie (keyboards), Johannes Sæbøe (guitars), Marthe Berger Walthinsen (bass guitar), Aage Moltke Schou (drums). There will be a number of guests appearing as well including former member Ketil Vestrum Einarsen on woodwinds. Expect a fusion of the traditional White Willow sound with a heavier, darker guitar element. Jacob indicated that this album has more Mellotron than any other White Willow album so expect the prog quotient to be as high as always.

Czeslaw Niemen

On 17 January, Czeslaw Niemen died in Warsaw at the age of 65 following a serious illness. Named ‘Polish vocalist of the 20th century’ by the weekly ‘Polityka’, Czes?aw Niemen had long been a Polish musical icon. Czes?aw Niemen  (real name: Czes?aw Wydrzycki) began singing at the start of the 1960s shortly after he and has family were repatriated from the Soviet Union. (He was born in 1939 in Waliszki Stare near Nowogródek which was soon to be occupied by the Soviet Union and proclaimed part of the Belarussian Soviet Republic.) His first speciality were Latin American rhythms headed by ‘Melaguena’.  That got him into the finals of the First Festival of Young Talents held in Szczecin in 1962. He later became one of the vocalists of the Niebiesko-Czarni (Blues & Blacks), Poland’s leading ‘big beat’ group, as groups attempting to promote rock’n’roll were called back then. His fame increased when he sang such songs as  ‘Hide and Seek’, ‘I Stand in the Window’ and ‘I Know You Won’t Come Back’. Jacek Marczy?ski wrote in the ‘Rzeczpospolita’ daily: ‘Niemen, still searching but already fully aware of where he was headed, appeared in 1967 with his own group, Akwarele (Water Colours). His both musical and programmatic manifesto, the song ‘This World is Strange’, was a far cry from the hit songs then in vogue. His new image was regarded as a scandal rather than an artistic proposal. Niemen irritated and shocked with his ancient Slavonic hair style, hippy-folk attire and views diverging from the then accepted propaganda norms. Many years had to pass before the true value of  that song as well as other selections from the albums ‘This World is Strange’ and ‘Success’ won general recognition. In his rich career spanning four decades his 1970 album ‘Enigmatic’ marked a culmination.

Masterplan

MASTERPLAN – most successful and highest sales of a debut album in 2003

Cannes in January 2004.

Due to many faithful fans, who buy original CD’s instead of “copying” or “downloading” them illegally, MASTERPLAN were nominated to the most successful German Newcomer band of Europe. Therefore they were awarded with the new “EUROPEAN BORDER BREAKERS AWARD”. The award took place in Cannes, in the frame of MIDEM. The debut album of MASTERPLAN, simply named “Masterplan” was 2003 the official highest sales debut album of a German band in Europe.

According to the motto “never change a winning team” the band is at the moment in Los Angeles, to work together with Roy Z (among others Halford, Bruce Dickinson) on their new songs. The new album will be released in the beginning of autumn, previously in summer will be published a new single to while away the time. The German-Norwegian formation is planning their first headliner tour in autumn.

If this comprehensible lasts to long, the new great solo album of MASTERPLAN singer Jorn Lande, “Out To Every Nation” will be released worldwide on April 26, 2004 by AFM Records and shows once again the unbelievable powerful voice of the Norwegian exception singer.

MASTERPLAN and their label AFM Records thank all fans who make this success and the top-placements in nearly all reader polls possible

Music Station

The members activity asMusic Station is short, but every member play an active part in Bulgarian music scene as a member of several rock/pop groups, as a support member of famous bands, as an arranger, and as a studio musician in Bulgaria.

They started actively writing songs and rehearsals from September 2002. In the first term Ventzi, Bobby, Boris and Jordan started to play, the drummer and singer had been changed several time during this period. In October 2002, Radoslav has been fixed as the drummer, and in January 2003, Pavlin has got a position of the singer. During this period 2 songs were recorded as a demo with other singer, but it had not been distributed.

From February 2003, the band had started recording with Tony Grapes (producer) of a technical rock band “Millennium” in studio AHAT. The recording was very complicated even used max 76 tracks. But Tony Grapes succeeded to mix it down for a quite short term. Then on 1st July, the debut album was released in Bulgaria.

The band has an influence from quite variable musicians; Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Pat Metheny, Al Di Meola, Metallica, Dream Theater, Rush, Yes, Incognito, Brand New Heavies, CAB, Marty Friedman, Shadow Gallery, Asia, Quincy Jones, Toto, Journey, Queenryche, Fates Warning, Tony McAlpine and so on. Also it has an influence of Bulgarian traditional music, these influences are making very unique sounds of  “Music Station”.

UBP International is a Bulgarian independent label. They recently released the debut album “Shaping” of this Bulgarian melodic and progressive rock band "Music Station".
