Dutch Prog Nite 2

On 19 December 2004 the second Dutch Prog Nite will be organized in "The Spirit of '66" in Verviers, Belgium. Last year, the Dutch bands Nice Beaver, Flamborough Head and Plackband were invited to play, and this year the Dutch bands Mangrove and ........ again Plackband will perfom (after many requests)! Mangrove will start the concert. This relatively young prog band has made a very positive impression with their albums “Cold World” and “Massive Hollowness” and has a promising future.
Mangrove will play for the first time on this Belgian festival. After Mangrove, Plackband will start their performance. At the beginning people have to get used to their new lead singer Karel Messemaker, but once you have seen him you know that the band has come to a higher level with Karel. Karel's voice is very warm and expressive and resembles the great voice of the best lead singer Genesis ever had .......... Plackband recorded their first DVD album very recently and will perform some old and new songs and will show you a few new visual effects too (see photo).

So, there will be playing two excellent bands who will get ample opportunity to present themselves.

For more information please check their websites:
www.mangrovemusic.nl and www.plackband.com.

Pink Floyd

Download 2 unreleased Pink Floyd Songs!

"King Bee" and "Lucy Leave" were recorded in October or November 1965 but were never released as they were not believed to be up to standard. They were simply "test recordings". Some people in the Pink Floyd community have suggested they might be fakes but EMI engineer Phil Smee has no doubt about their authenticity: "These are the demos that Peter Jenner said were not good enough to submit to anyone". You can download these two song on the forum from the link below. If you haven't registered to use the forum it only takes a moment. Use the relevant links below.

Van der Graaf Generator

VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR TO PLAY REUNION CONCERT

Hugh Banton, Guy Evans, Peter Hammill and David Jackson will perform at the Royal Festival Hall in London on May 6th 2005. Tickets are available from the RFH ticket office (www.rfh.org.uk).

After the "classic" line-up got together and played "Still Life" at the end of Peter Hammill's solo gig at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in February 2003, the guys started thinking about playing and recording together again. In September, after a summer of email exchanges, they held a band meeting and planned a get-together for February 2004 at Pyworthy in Devon.

Peter Hammill's heart attack threatened to scupper these plans but having made a speedy recovery they went ahead. This wasn't an exercise in nostalgia and no old Van der Graaf material was played all week but instead a serious amount of jamming went on and work done on several new numbers.

During the summer of 2004, Hammill, with input from the other three, worked to put together a double CD for release in the early part of 2005. Whilst the Royal Festival Hall gig is a one-off, there is talk of further gigs as long as the vibe remains favourable, and more recording in the Autumn.

Shadow Gallery

Press release: SHADOW GALLERY is the latest addition to the ever growing InsideOut family of artists.

SHADOW GALLERY - one of the pioneers of the Progressive Power Metal Genre - are currently recording the anticipated follow up to their last studio album "Legacy".
The new album, going under the working title of "Room Five" is the fifth album from this well respected American six piece. All of their albums are considered to be classics amongst fans of this type of music and their new concept album, which will be a continuation of the "Tyranny" story, will no doubt be heralded as the welcome return of SHADOW GALLERY.
This is what guitarist Gary Wehrkamp says about signing to InsideOut and the upcoming album: "As we begin to approach the later stages of recording, we are finding ourselves excited about our upcoming release. We remained quite busy after our last record, but took some time to team up with InsideOut, noting how much respect they had for their bands and visa-versa. I believe they are a good vehicle for our upcoming disc and look forward to working with them.
We are ready to put some new music back in the hands of progressive rock fans this spring."
"We are glad, to finally have the chance to work with these guys. I bought their first album when it came out and have been a fan of the band ever since!" says InsideOut managing director Thomas Waber.
