This I how you get the most out of neo-prog … with sound and vision…

The first, and for some of us, long awaiting DVD from Galahad is available right now.

A real jewel, captured while performing a concert at the Wyspianski theate in Katowice – Poland on 22 may 2006. Since 1993 the band always wanted to do a show in Poland and it was mooted several times but for logistical and financial reasons it was never regarded as a practical proposition. The band was recording their forthcoming “Empires Never Last” album at the Thin Ice Studio in Surrey – England when the opportunity came to do a live show in Poland which will be captured for a live DVD for general release. Also because Pendragon were going on tour and were filming a show in Katowice, and the promotor was looking for another band to play. So it was becoming almost a mini prog-rock festival. Although the theatre is a rather small concert hall the atmosphere is marvellous. You can feel the incredible and euphoric audience responding during the whole gig. The playlist is based on their forthcoming full-length “Empires Never Last” CD but they also perform their successful numbers like “Sleepers” - “Bug eye” and compositions from the “Year Zero” album. I can imagine Galahad had to rehearse a lot to play the new songs live but the new songs perfectly fit in the whole set and were brought with an enormous ‘feel’ and atmosphere. The band is in a good mood and performing well. Stuart Nicholson gives the best of himself and his performance is almost theatrical. Galahad have convinced me once more and I’ve been already curious to the new album in advance. This DVD proves that Galahad is a great band with lots capacities and deserve a lot more attention just like many other neo progressive rock veterans like Marillion or Pendragon.

Beside the video section on this DVD there’s also a large bonus on audio material from the ENL sessions and a previous studio demo. Also the usual stuff like Documentary, Biography, Discography, photo gallery and that kind of things.
