This is the debut album Mirror Snake, it’s not a long one but it’s a good one. From “Hidden Doors”: a twirling, curling instrumental start till “Hidden Doors pt.2”: a beautiful, wooly, end of the cd: this is a ride trough many years of good music! I hear great rock, pieces of new-wave, lots of psychedelic rock, I’m seeing the Jimmy Hendrix Experience in Woodstock and the Jefferson Airplane but I notice the influence of MC5 as well and even a little The Stooges and B52’s and lots of Jim Morrison. One thing is for sure: these guys are in great shape: it sounds fresh, young, energetic and wild. A piece of now and a piece of then: maybe the best of both worlds! A recommending debut! |
