Kelly Keagy
started as singer/drummer of the 80s band Night Ranger. They played
as the opening act for bands as Judas Priest, Santana and the Doobie
Brothers and made several records (“Midnight Madness“, “7 wishes”
a.o.). This second solo album was written and produced in cooperation with Jim Peterik (Pride of Lions) and also features contributions from his The Mob band mate: Reb Beach (Winger, Whitesnake), Mike Aquino (Pride of Lions, Mecca), Brian Bart, Tommy Denander, Bruce Gaitsch and Michael Lardie (Great White, Night Ranger). “I’m Alive” is not bad at all, it offers a various range of AOR/Hard Rock tunes but few of them are really overwhelming or unforgettable… “World Before and After” is such a song: very fine guitar parts, swinging, intense and powerful: in my opinion the best track of this cd, followed by “Where the Road Ends”. What can I say more? Mr. Keage has a decent voice but it’s not reaching the top, it seems that there’s no passion enough, no bursting out, it’s a bit to flat for me… A song as “Everything I need in a Woman” is begging for emotions! Conclusion: not very new, not very exiting, not very original… |
