23 Current is all about Shwan Burnette (Pittsburgh). The man wrote an arranged all the songs and plays almost all instruments except the drums (Andy Reamer). The style is original; the instruments played very well, the songs are varied and never boring. Progressive rock, alternative metal, classic piano… You can hear that Shawn is inspired by guitarist as Tony Lommi (Black Sabbath…), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Allan Holdsworth and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age…). He’s playing on a high level as well electric as acoustic, bass and piano: a great musician and a great composer to. Also much credits for the fantastic Andy Reamers, whose percussion is so well fitted in! Favourites: “Skin Deep” (very Pink Floyd!), the beautiful, instrumental “Hyperstition”, “Curve of the Universe” (those guitars: so fragile, so perfect!), the powerful song “Letters in Stone”, “The Fire of Time” (very melodic instrumental), the classical piano piece: “The Aftermath” and (a bit heavier) “Noise in the Circuit“ and “Sound and Sight”. This is cd is worth buying! Sound is great, style is original, instruments: very well played, guitars layered and arrangements: impressive. Good food for your sentences!
