After an
instrumental debut album, Patrick Skantze (Sweden) is showing his
vocal capacity (with Neil Young and Nick Drake as example) to and
made an album worth buying. The sound is melodious, easygoing and has much finesse. “Life provider” sounds a bit a Pink Floyd’s early days, a bit nostalgique and a little bit sad. “A new morning in-sight” is a joyful, very visual and romantic instrumental piece of art. “Strange days” does remind me a bit of Art Garfunkel and Al Stewart: delicate and very professional. “Gleam of hope” is an example of outstanding knowledge of the used instruments: a bit of Floyd again… “Appease” shows warm and touching guitars and doesn’t mind the lack of vocals. The last track: “Fiction at first view” starts with birds al around you, wide skies and very dreamy, relaxing vocals, almost hypnotizing… This is progressive music with lots of influence of symphonic rock and romantics, played very mature and very passionate to! Great piece of work! |
