Earlier this year, MAD MAX returned to the world of rock with quite a surprising move: they’d become a Christian rock band. They enjoyed quite a bit of success with their newest release, and toured with a.o. DEEP PURPLE and ALICE COOPER. The ep In White features some acoustic tracks – reworkings of MAD MAX rock tracks, and some new songs. Nice stuff, especially ‘To Hell And Back Again’ sounds fabulous in this stripped-back version. ‘Open The Eyes Of My Heart’ is also fantastic. A nice bonus for the fans. For the uninitiated maybe not the best way to get familiar with MAD MAX, but do try this out if you’re into acoustic rock à la EXTREME’s ‘More Than Words’ or MR. BIG’s ‘To Be With You’, and if you’re not put off by the Christian lyrics. In this style this ep is a little treasure. |
