“Green City” is
the first release of the artist run collective label Realpolitik
Rekords which is based in Brooklyn, NY. Sleepwalker’s Parade play
regularly at top NY clubs including The Knitting Factory, Club
Markor and The Cutting Room. The band combines a jazz style and
harmonic structures with rhythms that move from rock to trip hop.
That makes K.Page and Sleepwalker's Parade an interesting band, just
because how right the music sounds all put together. Vocalist
Kristin is classically trained and her voice fits perfectly by he
six piece band that’s making her voice shine. I’s a bit like ‘Bjork
meets Nina Simone’ and the vocals can be sweet or worldy. Although
this album is not an album which you expect on a progressive rock
site but some of us may like it in one way or another. The single
“Sleepwalker” from an earlier EP spent nine weeks in the top 10 on
Ison live radio chart of Australia where it moved from 8 to 3 and
spot held for two weeks. Maybe that’s a proof that this band has
it’s qualities. |
