Imogene is a band
from LA with two basses, an electric piano, keyboards, percussion
and guitar. How do they sound like? Mmm, I hear The Doors, the early
Pink Floyd, a bit Queen of the Stone Age… It’s early 70’s style, very relaxing, sometimes to relaxed… The voice of David Melbey can sound real spacey (Sunny Day Child: sit back and enjoy), sometimes a bit creepy (Seraphim) and even a bit annoying (Happy Communing with great beats), but always calm and warm (and sexy in Slow dive). What about the sound: it’s psychedelic (Not to Be, Dark Room), sometimes with intense, more powerful guitar work amongst the keyboards (Wormwood Raindrops), and sometimes a bit retro rock (Seraphim). In fact, you can hear lots of influences and still it’s a very own sound from a very unique band! |
