nederlands Review

HAL & RING were two Japanese bands from the mid-seventies. This project is a combination of musicians from both bands, thirty years after ! Two members of HAL later created Shingetsu , some played in Asturias, some others in East Wind Pot. The inlay of the CD told me that there is some 30 year old material on his album and that’s because some fermentation of human relationship and digital technology contributed so much. So… we let the music do the talking! "Alchemy" includes a collection of seven instrumental tracks, offering an excellent mix of progressive atmospheric music, varying from normal to a longer length whereby the musicians are influenced by Yes, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Camel and some seventies jazz-rock fusion. The quality of the songs and production are from a higher level than I’m used to compared with other Japanese releases that I have reviewed before. For this time I enjoyed the nice, mostly keyboards and synthesizer based, melodies filled with beautiful guitar solo’s that create an intense music with a rock feel that result in a human "Alchemy".
