nederlands Review

This second album by German singer Rya starts very promising with “Traveller”: some fine mysterious singing and floating synthesizer sounds. Sadly, that is about all this album has to offer. The rest is mostly a collection of spacy sounds, electronic beats, poppy choruses and experimental song structures. Rya’s vocals are very theatrical – oriental at times, so it does sound very strange to our western ears. Her accent is pretty horrible too.

I’m sure there will be a market for this style of music, but for me, this is pretty awful music, and I can’t listen to this for a very long time. I’m afraid this probably goes for most of the regular readers of this site as well.
