Some of The Beatles may have been kissing the daisies for
some years now, but their music is still very much alive. At least
that’s what I thought while listening to this album. Very much like
the Beatles, Enuff Z’Nuff brings music that is so very lively as if
the sun itself were in it. Simple songs, easy to remember and with
very catchy choruses without complex bridges or solos. This music
aims directly at the heart of the listener.
Progressive rock fans may miss the more elaborate solos and may
think that drums and bass are a bit too simple, but that’s just what
makes this music so accessible. There are some progressive elements
though. There are short, but nice guitar solos in Help and
Harleya and No Place Like Home kicks of like a
classic rock song.
Home Tonight
reminds of the Belgian rock band The Scabs and now and again
Tom Petty seems to be peeping around the corner. Man With a
Woman seems to be a crossbred between Sergeant Pepper and
AOR. Stone Cold Crazy is the heaviest song on the album and
makes me think of Ram Jam for those who can remember this
band, including strongly beating drums and breathtaking guitar solo.
Bonus track is an acoustic camp fire sing-along including tambourine
bells.
This album provides the listener with a good deal of honest pop
rock. Very nice to listen to! |
