No progressive or
symphonic rock or anything of the kind. Just plain acoustic guitar,
played in an enchanting way. Pierre Bensusan plays his guitar like a
master does, bringing a variety of instrumental songs from very
classic to Celtic, Latin to Middle Eastern, but always with an
incredible sensitivity. Listening to this music is a cure for the
restless soul after a hard day’s work.
There are two
ballads on this album with French vocals (lyrics to be found on the
website). “La Nuit des Météores” and the incredible “Demain, dès l’Aube”:
based on a poem by Victor Hugo. Both guitar and vocals are so tender
and breakable and it seems that this music doesn’t tolerate any
other language than French. The intensity of the song reminds a bit
of Greg Lake’s “C’est la Vie”. It’s at moments like these that music
becomes a divine thing.
There’s not
much more to say about Antiplanos. Just buy and enjoy it… |
