This CD was sent to us, as well, along with 313 and Chupacabras. Like I had said in the 313 review, I am very impressed with what this band delivers. The quality of this Ghost Story CD is outstanding. What these musicians can do with their instruments is very impressive. Even though the theme variation is less than what you find on 313, it is still a strong album. The reference here is, without a doubt, David Bowie from the early 70s. The mood of the songs reminds me of Ziggy Stardust but without really copying it. What strikes me the most about Phideaux is the strength of the songs. They speak for themselves, based on their compositional quality. As far as production and singing talents go, they leave other bands behind in a trail of dust. I think its high time for the progressive rock lover to immerse him/herself in this band. They definitely have my attention. |
