Machiavel certainly has chosen a contemporary sound where this brand new recording is concerned. Although aimed to boost sales for their recently released Anthology 2CD set, this song is now also released as a single. And, due to the commercial feel, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it gets loads of airplay (drummer Marc Ysaye is a deejay with Belgian national radio!). There’re few keyboards added to this song, which evolves around guitar and sitar, thus steering it slightly towards Led Zeppelin once again. Mario also switches towards his head-voice quite often, which blends nicely with the feel of the song.

The second song is not to be found on the Anthology set, yet is a song taken from the band’s 1980 album New Lines, an album whereby the band once again embarked towards new musical territories, even including the mouth-tube as made immortal by Peter Frampton. All in all a nice selection to promote the new set, yet apart from its promotional value, only of interest to diehard collectors and completists.
